Increase in Dentists and Dental Services for Drysdale.

Drysdale residents are delighted with the announcement of an increase in Dentists and dental services in their local community.

Since acquiring Drysdale Family Dental Clinic from Dr Nicholas Johnstone in January 2010, Pacific Smiles Dental has added a second surgery and welcomed Dr Darren Schmidtke to the Centre.

The friendly and caring team at Pacific Smiles Dental can now provide the Drysdale community with greater access to quality dental care with the increased services provided by Dr Schmidtke and Dr Johnstone. New and existing patients now have access to the latest in modern dental techniques including Crowns, Veneers, Bridges, Implants, Teeth Whitening and digital x-rays.

Dr Johnstone said, “Since Dr Schmidtke joined our team, we have been able to see more patients and our waiting list has decreased, allowing patients to see us when they need to.”

Given the growing local demand for quality dental services, it is a welcome relief for the Bellarine Peninsula to be able to secure an additional experienced Dentist. Dr Schmidtke, who grew up in Clifton Springs and attended Drysdale Primary School, has over 20 years experience as a Dentist, and after originally practising in Melbourne, worked at Pacific Smiles Dental, Torquay from 2001.

Dr Schmidtke said he was thrilled when Pacific Smiles Dental announced the acquisition and expansion of Dr Johnstone’s practice in January as it offered him the opportunity to work closer to his home and young family.

As a result of increasing the number of surgeries and Dentists at Pacific Smiles Dental, Drysdale, Dr Schmidtke and Dr Johnstone are now able to provide additional services to Government funded dental patients who are eligible for the Medicare Teen Dental Plan, Chronic Disease Dental Scheme and Veterans’ Affairs. Participation in these Government funded dental schemes aim to provide local families with greater access to affordable dental care.
