Dentists and staff from Pacific Smiles Dental generously donated their time on Saturday 9th of May 2009 to participate in the NSW National Dental Foundation Volunteer Day.
For the third consecutive year, Pacific Smiles Dental encouraged Dentists and staff to participate in the program which offers underprivileged fellow Australians the opportunity to receive quality dental care for free.
6 Dentists from Pacific Smiles Dental gave up their time on Saturday with a team of 6 staff members assisting them. Dr Alex Abrahams, founder of Pacific Smiles Dental, who has participated in the volunteer days for the last three years, said he “looks forward to helping local community members each year via the program”.
“The patients and charities involved are always so appreciative” said Dr Abrahams, “and that’s why we always have more and more dentists and staff members ready to help out each year”.
Pacific Smiles Dental provided much needed dental treatment to numerous patients on the day at no cost to the patient. Treatment ranged from check-ups and cleans to fillings, extractions and oral health care advice.
Patients were referred to Pacific Smiles Dental from a number of local charities including Carries House, The Mai-Wel Group, WHO and Burnside. Pacific Smiles Dental has already commenced plans to participate in the next NSW National Dental Foundation Volunteer Day in August 2009.
